Electrical engineering, main module systems- & Operating technology

Electrical engineers in plant and operating technology mount, install, service and repair electrical and electronic equipment and facilities. They mostly work to install, commission, service and repair machines and plant parts or the like.

The most important activities include:
Electrical installation, commissioning, maintenance and repair of machines and systems in our company and at our international customers’ sites.

I have worked as an electrical engineer at GFM for more than 40 years. Work here is very interesting. We always use the latest technologies in order to be better than the competition. Technology has changed a lot over the years. It has been modernized and will be subject to constant change in the future, too. This is what makes our profession so very exciting.

Metal technology, main module machining technology

Metal engineers in machining technology produce metal and plastic parts with machining or chip-removing methods.

The most important work comprises:
Production of high-precision parts with many different geometries and of many different materials. Most metal parts are processed with machining methods such as milling, turning, drilling and grinding. This is usually done on CNC machines. Programs need to be written or modified for these. The parts are then measured and inspected.

I do not know any company with a working climate as good as that at GFM. Work as a machining engineer is very diverse. You will produce different products on different machines every day. Many further training options (crane driving license, forklift license, factory master, etc.) and good wages add to the advantages.

I like to be an installer at GFM because we build special machines. In contrast to other companies, we specialize in special machines. Because of this, no two machines and no two days are ever alike for us. Our deployments abroad introduce us to other countries, cultures and working methods.
